Several years ago a colleague and I supported a particularly gnarly financial services product that became discontinued. This partner called the first day we no longer had to support that product “Over The Rainbow” day. He was right. Our work life was so much easier after we ceased operations with this product. In our culture I think we tend to use that phrase to point to some event that changes our lives, usually indicative of some sort of death, but I think we can expand our collective psyche to think of “over the rainbow” as a new beginning.
Today the Spirit was moving swiftly on our first full day of family vacation in South Carolina, but I want to share with you the attached photo showing the rainbow some of us saw on our first partial day on the island yesterday. It’s likely Chantal stirring the atmosphere and the sea off the coast of the Carolinas that created this beautiful phenomenon, and we who witnessed it were imbued in the brilliance of ROY G BOV in ways I’ve never seen before.
Today, after dinner, our children and their families honored Kathy and me as we head “over the rainbow” to the life of retirement, an era of new life in some untapped mines of abundance and love that we hope will unfold in our lives and benefit all whose paths intersect with ours. That Spirit rages in me now as I figure out how to be in this transition and in the way I’m called to live going forward.
What happened in your ordinary life today where you can now see the Spirit at work?
