Movement Of The Spirit Found Despite The Rain
Like many neighborhoods across the country, our little two square mile piece of the United States has its own traditions on this day. Some magical people in the neighborhood arrange a legitimate parade with Springfield Township fire and police leading the way. Our grandchildren decorate and ride their bikes in the parade. I usually jog lightly behind them to make sure they’re safe and they get reconnected with their parents at the end of the show. For today’s parade, however, I waked with three year old grandchild and, wow, he’s a trooper! He insisted on walking the entire parade route, about three-quarters of a mile. He rejected my three offers to carry him on my shoulders.
The parade ends in a cul-de-sac where the neighborhood holds a party with hot dogs, popcorn, snow cones, and lots of fun games. The rain started just as we began the parade, and by the time we finished it was coming down very steadily. And we were wet. But people still came out to participate in this neighborhood tradition. That’s were I saw the Spirit moving today.
What happened today in your ordinary life where you can now see the Spirit at work?
